Audi has unveiled its new A6 e-tron, marking a significant step in the company’s electric vehicle lineup. The A6 e-tron, available in both Sportback and Avant models, is the second vehicle to utilize Audi’s PPE platform and the first to feature a flat floor concept.

“The A6 e-tron is the first purely electric Audi model available as a Sportback and Avant,” says Gernot Döllner, Chairman of the Board of Management of AUDI AG. “Its striking design enables the best aerodynamics in the portfolio and therefore greater efficiency. It will inspire enthusiasm for e-mobility with its long range of well over 435 miles and outstanding driving dynamics.”

The A6 e-tron boasts impressive aerodynamics, with the Sportback achieving a drag coefficient of 0.21, making it the most aerodynamic vehicle in the entire VW Group. The Avant model follows closely with a coefficient of 0.24. Audi continues to innovate in lighting technology, offering digital daytime running lights and second-generation digital OLED rear lights on higher-spec models. The rear lights feature car-to-x communication capabilities, enhancing road safety. Inside, the A6 e-tron showcases Audi’s new design philosophy with a panoramic display and optional augmented reality head-up display. The infotainment system runs on Android Automotive OS and includes access to the Audi Application Store for third-party apps.
A standout feature is the optional smart panoramic glass roof, which can switch from transparent to opaque at the touch of a button using PDLC technology.

The A6 e-tron will launch with two versions: the A6 Sportback/Avant e-tron performance and the S6 Sportback/Avant e-tron. The performance models offer up to 367PS (270 kW) with rear-wheel drive, while the S6 models feature quattro all-wheel drive and up to 550PS (405 kW) with launch control. Utilizing 800-volt technology, the A6 e-tron can charge at up to 270 kW, allowing for a range of up to 192 miles in just 10 minutes of charging. The battery consists of 12 modules with a total gross capacity of 100 kWh. The vehicle also features advanced recuperation systems and an integrated Brake System (iBS) for improved efficiency and range.
Audi has equipped the A6 e-tron with a range of driver assistance systems, including the new adaptive driving assistant plus, which uses various sensors and high-resolution map data to improve driving behavior.

The Audi A6 e-tron and S6 e-tron, in both Sportback and Avant versions, will be available to order in the UK from September 2, 2024. Pricing and full specifications will be announced on that date.
