Opel Astra Sports Tourer Electric delivers real-world WLTP results

Opel is sharpening its electric offensive with the debut of the new Astra Sports Tourer Electric, a compact‑class estate that pairs German engineering with real‑world efficiency. At its international dynamic launch, the model impressed journalists from 22 countries by consuming just 15.7 kWh per 100 km under everyday driving conditions – a figure that mirrors its official WLTP rating and underscores Opel’s focus on practical, attainable electrification.

Designed, developed, and built in Rüsselsheim, the all‑electric Sports Tourer combines emotional design with proven versatility. Test drives across Croatia – spanning coastal towns, mountain roads, fluctuating temperatures, and mixed weather – highlighted the car’s quiet, composed handling and its ability to maintain efficiency even under challenging conditions. Across more than 14,000 km of journalist‑driven testing, the fleet consistently matched its WLTP consumption benchmark, reinforcing Opel’s claim that electric mobility can be both enjoyable and dependable.

The Astra Sports Tourer Electric delivers 115 kW (156 hp) and 270 Nm of torque, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 9.5 seconds with a top speed limited to 170 km/h. Its 58 kWh battery (55 kWh usable) now enables up to 445 km of range – around 35 km more than before – thanks in part to aerodynamic refinements. New practical touches include Vehicle‑to‑Load capability for powering external devices and battery pre‑conditioning via the cabin, enhancing comfort and convenience on longer trips or holiday travel.

Opel is also bundling ownership benefits under its “Electric All In” programme, offering services such as a home wallbox, e‑route planning, eight years of mobile charging and roadside assistance, and a long‑term battery warranty for customers purchasing a fully electric model. The initiative aims to make the transition to electric driving smoother and more accessible.
