The ID. Cross introduces Volkswagen’s Pure Positive design language, emphasizing clarity, stability, and a friendly, modern aesthetic. Its proportions are compact yet confident, measuring 4153 mm in length, 1794 mm in width, and 1581 mm in height. Thanks to the optimized MEB+ platform, the SUV offers noticeably more interior space than the combustion‑powered T‑Cross, including 475 liters of luggage capacity and an additional 25‑liter frunk under the bonnet. The exterior design is defined by a “flying roof” silhouette, a strong C‑pillar and striking light signatures that become even more distinctive when equipped with IQ.LIGHT LED matrix headlamps and 3D LED rear lights with illuminated VW logos.
Inside, the ID. Cross focuses on comfort, craftsmanship, and intuitive digital operation. Fabric‑covered surfaces, tactile metallic accents and high‑quality materials create a warm, inviting atmosphere. The Digital Cockpit Pro with a 10.25‑inch display and the large 12.9‑inch infotainment screen are aligned on a horizontal axis for optimal visibility. A retro‑inspired instrument mode even recreates the look of the original Golf I, blending nostalgia with modern EV functionality. Optional premium features include a Harman Kardon 425‑watt audio system, electrically adjustable massage seats with memory function and a panoramic roof measuring 74 by 90 centimeters.
The ID. Cross launches with Volkswagen’s latest APP290 electric motor, available in three output levels: 85 kW, 99 kW, and 155 kW. Customers can choose between two battery sizes, 37 kWh and 52 kWh net, enabling WLTP ranges of up to 427 kilometers. Charging performance is equally advanced, with DC fast charging from 10% to 80% in approximately 23 minutes for the smaller battery and around 24 minutes for the larger pack. The SUV also supports 11 kW AC charging and includes vehicle‑to‑load functionality as standard, allowing external devices to draw up to 3.6 kW of power.
Volkswagen equips the ID. Cross with assistance systems typically reserved for higher vehicle classes. The new Connected Travel Assist uses online data and can now respond to traffic lights, automatically braking the vehicle when a red signal is detected within system limits. Additional innovations include One‑Pedal Driving, a 360‑degree Area View camera system and Park Assist Pro with remote smartphone‑controlled parking. Ride comfort has been a major development focus, with precise steering, refined suspension tuning, and optional adaptive DCC suspension available for the 155 kW variant.
The model range begins with the Trend version, which already includes high‑quality materials and a 90 kW DC fast‑charging capability. The Life trim adds features such as 18‑inch wheels, dual‑zone climate control, adaptive cruise control and a rear‑view camera. The Style trim sits at the top of the lineup, offering IQ.LIGHT matrix headlamps, 3D LED rear lights, heated seats and steering wheel, personalized interior trim, and keyless entry and start.
Advance sales begin immediately in select markets. Customers can now configure and order the ID. Cross Life and Style versions with the 155 kW motor and 52 kWh battery, starting at €36525. The entry‑level Trend model will follow soon at €27995, alongside additional powertrain and equipment variants.
