The Presidential CNG Initiative (Pi-CNG) is a crucial component of the current administration’s efforts to alleviate the public hardships that resulted from the removal of fuel subsidies by the Federal Government of Nigeria.

This initiative primarily focuses on diversifying Nigeria’s energy sources, reducing reliance on petrol and diesel, and addressing environmental concerns. By promoting the conversion of vehicles to operate on Compressed Natural Gas, the government aims to significantly lower transportation costs, which will positively impact various aspects of daily life.

Furthermore, the Pi-CNG initiative is not only a means of economic diversification but also a way to create employment opportunities and generate wealth for the people of Nigeria.

During a recent discussion with the Honorable Commissioner for Transportation, Hon. Atuluku Victor Levi, he expressed his support for the initiative, describing it as a timely and positive step forward. Hon. Atuluku emphasized that the high cost of premium motor spirit following the removal of fuel subsidies had been a burden on the people. Still, he is confident that converting vehicles to operate on Compressed Natural Gas will help alleviate the financial strain on transportation and improve the well-being of the people of Kogi State. He also highlighted the safety and affordability of this alternative fuel source.

In conclusion, the Presidential CNG Initiative is a promising solution to the challenges posed by removing fuel subsidies, offering a sustainable and cost-effective alternative that will benefit both the people of Kogi State and the nation.
