Coscharis Motors, the representative of various global automotive brands in Nigeria, is advancing its mission to deliver cleaner, sustainable mobility solutions across Nigeria through a strategic partnership with Asia Star, a Chinese electric vehicle (EV) bus manufacturer.

Following the successful deployment of Asia Star EV buses to Abia State, the Asia Star team recently visited Coscharis Motors’ facilities in Lagos, their partner in Nigeria, for a working engagement to deepen their strategic collaboration and optimise performance delivery in the Nigerian market.

Receiving the Asia Star team on behalf of Coscharis Motors, Director of Sales and Aftersales, Ufuoma Umukoro, welcomed the Chinese partners, noting that the visit underscored the importance of the new partnership to both parties in delivering value in the new terrain of bringing quality electric vehicles to the Nigerian market.

He said: “The Asia Star team’s visit enabled us to align more closely on our shared goals and values. From insightful discussions to an extensive tour of our showrooms, after-sales facilities, and assembly plant, the engagement underscored our commitment to continuous improvement, innovation, and the delivery of top-quality electric mobility solutions to Nigerians.”

Will Shi, Business Manager for Africa and the Pacific Region, Overseas Marketing, and leader of the Asia Star team, was excited with what he and his team saw during the visit, including serious investment in well-laid-out showrooms, well-equipped after-sales workshops, and an ultra-modern Assembly Plant, as conveyed through his interpreter.

According to Shi, the visit was to confirm the pedigree of its new partner, Coscharis, which could help deliver quality electric vehicles to the Nigerian market.

He added: “We can confidently affirm, based on what we’ve seen so far, that we have the right partner in Coscharis to complement our own pedigree in the automotive industry.”

As a wrap-up of the visit, the leader of Coscharis Motors’ Technical team for the EV business, Chukwu Opara, provided feedback on the recently delivered EV buses to the Abia State government.
