ZM Trucks, the zero-emissions commercial truck brand of ZO Motors, has established its first North American manufacturing plant in Fontana, California. The OEM expects to begin production at this new facility in the first half of 2025.
Alongside the new plant, the announcement marks the relocation of the company’s regional headquarters to the Fontana facility, bolstering its commitment to strengthening sustainable transportation solutions in the United States. Altogether, the newly constructed facility will span 9.67 acres with a 210,000 square-foot factory floor and be located approximately 49 miles (78 km) from downtown Los Angeles.
The plant itself will serve as the base of ZO Motors’ U.S. operations, supporting the production of various zero-emission products. Initially, this will encompass electric commercial trucks, terminal tractors, and airport ground service equipment developed under the ZM Trucks brand.
Through its new regional headquarters and manufacturing facility in Fontana, ZO Motors is ultimately aiming to accelerate its mission to facilitate cleaner, more sustainable transportation solutions. Working alongside its recently announced plant in Cambodia, to supply the Asian Pacific markets, the facility will more broadly help the company scale its operations in key regional markets and develop its global footprint.
