Nio Inc (NYSE: NIO, HKG: 9866) has been setting consecutive daily battery swap service records during China’s Spring Festival travel peak.

On February 21 — the fifth day of the 2026 Chinese Lunar New Year — Nio reached 175,976 daily battery swaps, setting a new all-time high, the Chinese electric vehicle (EV) maker announced Sunday.

This marks the fifth time this month the service has broken its historical record and the fourth consecutive day of setting a new daily record.

Other recent records include:

  • February 15: 146,649 battery swaps.
  • February 18: 158,290 battery swaps.
  • February 19: 165,898 battery swaps.
  • February 20: 170,305 battery swaps.

A station at the Xianrenshan Service Area on the G42 Shanghai-Chengdu Expressway completed 193 swaps on February 21, marking the highest single-day total.

A station at the Sheyang Service Area on the G15 Shenyang-Haikou Expressway completed 184 swaps.

A station at the Dahuai Service Area on the G15 Expressway completed 181 services.

February 15-23 marked China’s 2026 Spring Festival holiday period, a peak travel season.

On February 15 — the first day of China’s 2026 Spring Festival holiday — Nio delivered 146,649 battery swap services in a single day, setting the first record of the month.

To date, Nio operates 3,750 battery swap stations across China, with 1,022 located along expressways, according to its charging network data.

These expressway stations connect 550 cities nationwide.

On February 6, Nio reached a cumulative milestone of 100 million battery swap services.

By the end of January, Nio Inc had delivered a cumulative total of 1,024,774 vehicles, comprising 850,503 Nio-branded vehicles, 132,050 Onvo-branded vehicles, and 42,221 Firefly-branded vehicles, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.

Currently, Onvo-branded vehicles share battery swap stations with Nio, while Firefly vehicles cannot yet utilize this service.

William Li reiterated to employees the goal of achieving annual profitability in 2026, following Nio’s alert of its first quarterly profit in the fourth quarter of 2025.
