President Bola Tinubu has promised to give 36 Compressed Natural Gas buses to the Nigeria Labour Congress and the Trade Union Congress.

The President made the promise on Thursday during his meeting with the leadership of the NLC and the TUC over the new minimum wage for Nigerian workers.

According to the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the move is part of the federal government’s efforts to ameliorate the high cost of living for workers across the country.

The presidential aide added that the 36 CNG-powered buses have a sitting capacity of 100 each, aimed to provide significant relief to workers by offering more affordable and sustainable transportation options.

“As a way of ameliorating the high cost of living by workers, President Bola Tinubu has promised to give 36 CNG-powered buses with a sitting capacity of 100 each to the TUC and NLC.

“This was one of the highlights of the meeting between the Federal Government and the two central trade unions in Abuja today,” he said in a post on X.

Earlier, President Tinubu approved ₦70,000 minimum wage for Nigerian workers with a promise to review the national minimum wage law every three years.

The President also promised to find ways to assist the private sector and the sub-nationals to pay the minimum wage.
