Deliveries will begin in Spring 2026 with the Rivian R2 Performance equipped with the Launch Package, starting at $57,990. Additional Premium configurations will follow later in 2026, with Standard configurations arriving in 2027.
Built on a new mid‑size platform, the Rivian R2 introduces a more accessible price point without sacrificing capability. The lineup offers up to 656 horsepower, acceleration from 0–60 mph in as little as 3.6 seconds, and a Rivian‑estimated range of up to 345 miles, blending strong performance with everyday practicality.
The R2 lineup introduces multiple trims tailored to different driving needs, each offering a balance of range, capability, and performance. All models include a native NACS charge port with access to the Supercharger network, along with compatibility for other networks through CCS adapter support.
The Rivian R2 Performance trim, arriving first in Spring 2026, debuts with the Launch Package and delivers the highest capability in the lineup. It features dual‑motor all‑wheel drive, 656 horsepower, 609 lb‑ft of torque, and an EPA‑estimated range of up to 330 miles. It includes semi‑active suspension, a premium interior with Birch wood accents, heated and ventilated seating, advanced lighting, Rivian Premium Audio, and a variety of drive modes. The Launch Package adds lifetime access to Autonomy+, a special key fob, exclusive color options, and a tow package.
The Rivian R2 Premium trim, available in late 2026 and starting at $53,990, offers 450 horsepower, 537 lb‑ft of torque, a 0–60 mph time of 4.6 seconds, and an EPA‑estimated range of up to 330 miles. It includes a refined interior, advanced lighting, Rivian Premium Audio, heated and ventilated seating, and multiple drive modes.
The Rivian R2 Standard trim, arriving in the first half of 2027 and starting at $48,490, introduces a rear‑wheel‑drive Long Range configuration with 350 horsepower, 355 lb‑ft of torque, a 0–60 mph time of 5.9 seconds, and an estimated range of up to 345 miles. It includes a simplified interior, heated seating, standard audio, and a selection of drive modes. A more affordable Standard variant will follow later in 2027 at around $45,000 with an estimated range of over 275 miles.
Rivian is also expanding its exterior color palette with new shades inspired by natural landscapes, including Catalina Cove, Esker Silver, and Half Moon Grey. These join established colors such as Midnight, Glacier White, Forest Green, Borealis, and the limited‑time Launch Green. Wheel options range from 19‑inch all‑season designs to 21‑inch forged wheels optimized for range and on‑road performance.
Inside, the R2 emphasizes utility and minimalism, offering distinct interior environments across trims. Premium and Performance models feature Birch wood accents and nature‑inspired textures, while the Standard trim offers a clean, dark‑toned interior. The cabin is designed for comfort and practicality, with generous storage, fold‑flat rear seats and Rivian’s signature rear drop glass window for open‑air versatility.
Despite being nearly 2,000 pounds lighter than the R1 and built on a shorter wheelbase, the R2 maintains Rivian’s off‑road capability with strong ground clearance, approach and departure angles, and a low center of gravity supported by its structural battery pack. The Performance trim’s semi‑active suspension enhances handling both on and off the road.
The R2 also advances Rivian’s software‑defined vehicle architecture, featuring 5G connectivity, offline‑capable processing, an 11‑camera perception system, radar integration, and an expanding suite of driver‑assistance features. Autonomy+ hardware is included on all trims, with optional service plans. The vehicle also introduces Rivian Assistant, enhanced haptic steering controls, and dual digital displays. Over‑the‑air updates will continue to expand capabilities throughout the vehicle’s life.
Deliveries for the R2 begin in Spring 2026, with reservations open now for a $100 refundable deposit. The lineup will be showcased at SXSW 2026, and an online configurator will launch in the coming months.
Rivian’s R2 lineup represents a major step in the company’s strategy to reach a broader market while maintaining its adventurous identity.
