THE Federal Government and a publishing firm, University Press Plc, have partnered to strengthen the capacities of youths in the area of publishing, printing operations and management.

The partnership is a three-month skill acquisition and empowerment training for beneficiary youths to make them job-ready in the world of printing, or even set up their own businesses.

This initiative, being spearheaded by the Special Assistant to the President on Youth Initiatives, Dr Titilope Gbadamosi, is aligned to the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu, to empower youths to have in-demand skills that will make them employable, or begin their own entrepreneurial journey.

Speaking during the flag-off of the project at the Best In Print Academy, NTC Complex, Iyaganku, Ibadan, Dr Gbadamosi said President Tinubu is committed to empowering the youth so that they can thrive in their endeavours.

She said apart from the printing operations and management initiative, there is also the Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) car conversion training going on across the country, which is aimed at ensuring that youths benefit from the CNG policy of the Federal Government.

Dr Gbadamosi said all these youth-focused initiatives showed the love the president has for these young Nigerians who will drive the country’s development in the nearest future.

She, therefore, charged the beneficiaries to seize the opportunity and gain the skill that will definitely change their lives.

Earlier, the Managing Director of University Press Plc, Mr Samuel Kolawole, thanked Dr Gbadamosi for keying into the proposal to equip the youth with the necessary skill in the publishing and printing sector.

He also thanked the chairman of Best In Print Academy, Mr Gbadega Adedapo, for his support for the project, adding that the facility of the academy has up-to-date printing equipment for the training of the beneficiaries.

On his part, Mr Adedapo also charged the beneficiaries to seize the opportunity and learn from the best hands in the printing industry in the country so that they can immediately be job-ready.

In her vote of thanks, the Executive Director (Publishing), University Press Plc, Mrs Folakemi Bademosi, thanked Dr Gbadamosi for her vision for the youth in the country, which she said is showing through her works.
