ChargePoint, a provider
of EV charging solutions, and Porsche Cars North America, will together enable
PCNA access to the ChargePoint network within the Porsche Charging Service. Through
the new collaboration, both companies will look to increase the number of
chargers available to Porsche customers across North America up to more than
100,000.
Porsche EV and
PHEV customers will be able to benefit from the partnership through the My
Porsche app, available on iOS and Android, which helps drivers find, use and
pay at supported charging stations. The companies said that the integration of
ChargePoint into the My Porsche app is expected to go live in Q4 2024.
The announcement
of Porsche’s partnership with ChargePoint follows its late 2023 announcement to
implement the North American Charging Standard (NACS) charging port into its future
products sold in the North American region. ChargePoint likewise supports all
types of charge ports across its AC, DC and home charging solutions. In doing
so, the provider is working to ensure a seamless charging experience for EV
drivers.
