ProLogium and Rimac Technology advance next-generation EV battery development

ProLogium and Rimac Technology have announced a significant step forward in their collaboration on next-generation electric vehicle batteries, unveiling a completed battery pack concept mockup that is showcased at the 2026 Paris Motor Show. The milestone marks the latest development in a partnership established through a memorandum of understanding signed in September 2025 to create an advanced battery platform for future electric vehicles.

The collaboration combines ProLogium’s next-generation cell technology with Rimac Technology’s expertise in battery system engineering, focusing on a pouch cell-to-pack architecture. The companies are following a staged development process that will progress from the concept mockup to functional battery segments, full-scale battery packs, and ultimately vehicle integration and road testing.

According to the companies, the next phase will center on developing a functional battery segment to validate thermal management and cell-integration concepts before expanding the technology into complete battery pack applications for the battery electric vehicle market. The approach is designed to evaluate critical system-level challenges such as heat control, battery architecture, and cell integration, elements that play a major role in translating advanced battery chemistry into practical automotive solutions.

The partners have also outlined an ambitious roadmap for future development. Under Rimac Technology’s current plans, a functional battery segment is expected to be displayed at CES 2027. A full-scale functional battery pack has been identified as a development milestone for the second half of 2027, while in-vehicle and public-road testing is targeted for the second half of 2028.

Each stage is intended to expand validation efforts, beginning with component-level testing before progressing to complete battery systems and real-world automotive applications. By gradually advancing from concept design to operational hardware, both companies aim to generate engineering data and design feedback that can support the commercialization of next-generation battery technologies.
