- The Sky Nomad lineup delivered 12,444 vehicles in September.
Xiaomi Auto, the EV unit of Xiaomi (HKEX: 1810), delivered 40,015 vehicles in September, its highest monthly total this year, as the newly launched Sky Nomad extended-range SUV lineup began contributing to sales.
The figure was disclosed in a China Passenger Car Association (CPCA) report released on October 12. Xiaomi had previously said only that deliveries exceeded 40,000 vehicles for the month.
Still, the total was down 4.61% from 41,948 vehicles a year earlier, marking a second consecutive year-on-year decline, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.
September deliveries rose 32.71% from August’s 30,153 vehicles, ending 2 consecutive months of sequential declines and marking the biggest monthly increase since April.
Xiaomi launched the Sky Nomad lineup on September 7, entering the extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) market for the first time. Its automotive business had previously relied on the battery-electric SU7 sedan and YU7 SUV.
The company said at the time that firm orders for the Sky Nomad exceeded 10,000 within 4 minutes of launch. On October 8, Xiaomi announced that the Sky Nomad series had received more than 70,000 locked-in orders within 30 days of its launch.
The Sky Nomad N70 delivered 7,147 vehicles in September, while the N90 delivered 5,297, bringing the lineup’s combined total to 12,444.
The SU7 sedan lineup delivered 15,751 vehicles in September, down 19.55% from a year earlier and 4.64% from August. It was the lineup’s twelfth consecutive month of year-on-year declines.

Xiaomi Auto delivered 101,435 vehicles in the third quarter, down 6.77% from 108,796 a year earlier.
Deliveries in the first 9 months totaled 286,490 vehicles, up 7.41% from a year earlier. That was slower than the 9.65% growth recorded in the first 8 months.
The total represents 52.1% of its annual target of 550,000 vehicles. To meet that goal, Xiaomi needs to deliver 263,510 vehicles in the final 3 months, averaging about 87,837 a month, or roughly 2.2 times September’s level.
That would require a sharp increase in fourth-quarter deliveries, making the Sky Nomad’s production ramp-up and conversion of orders into deliveries crucial.
China’s retail sales of new energy vehicles (NEVs) in September totaled 1.084 million units, down 16.7% year-on-year, marking the ninth consecutive month of year-on-year decline, according to data released yesterday by the CPCA.
Overseas sales remained strong, with NEV exports in September reaching 558,000 units, surging 163.5% year-on-year.
Xiaomi currently generates all of its vehicle sales in China, leaving it exposed to a domestic market that is still contracting.
Xiaomi Auto’s cumulative deliveries reached 837,798 vehicles at the end of September, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.
