2026 Subaru Trailseeker EV SUV debuted at the 2025 New York International Auto Show

The all-new, all-electric 2026 Subaru Trailseeker EV SUV was unveiled at the 2025 New York International Auto Show. With its advanced electric powertrain and adventurous style, the Trailseeker represents the next generation of Subaru vehicles. Featuring 375 horsepower, the Trailseeker delivers an engaging driving experience with the grip of legendary Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive and 8.3 inches of ground clearance. Plus, with the adoption of the North American Charging Standard (NACS), you can find a fast charge almost anywhere. With the versatile, roomy Trailseeker, you get everything you love about a Subaru — outstanding capability, advanced safety, and long-lasting Subaru engineering – all in an adventurous all-electric vehicle you can trust from a brand you can love.

The 2026 Trailseeker features an all-electric powertrain providing 375 horsepower so you get plenty of acceleration and everyday driving excitement on short commutes or long road trips. With a towing capacity of up to 3,500 pounds, you can haul trailers, boats, and more. For 2025, all Subaru EVs are compatible with the North American Charging Standard (NACS), adding more than 15,000 locations across the country for quick, convenient charging. When the temperature drops, the new battery pre-conditioning feature can compensate so you still get a quick charge. Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, 8.3 inches of ground clearance, and dual-function X-MODE let you explore where ordinary electric vehicles just can’t go.

With its bold style and functional features, the 2026 Trailseeker combines ultramodern looks with capable SUV design. Protective lower cladding and raised roof rails create a rugged yet sophisticated look. Compared to the Subaru Solterra, the Trailseeker is more than 150 millimetres longer and nearly 25 millimetres taller, with additional room dedicated to the rear for increased cargo space. Along with the 2026 Solterra, the Trailseeker debuts a new Subaru EV lighting signature with a six-star illuminated logo, redesigned headlamps, a new front bumper design, and newly designed 20- and 18-inch wheels. Around the back, three-dimensional SUBARU lettering and rear gate garnish bring a distinctive nighttime lighting presence.

The stylish interior features water-resistant StarTex upholstery and is engineered to maximize interior space with an open, airy cabin, fully flat rear floor, and ample cargo room. It’s packed with technology, including a 14-inch touchscreen multimedia system, standard wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, and dual wireless chargers for smartphones and other compatible devices. The safety and convenience of EyeSight Driver Assist Technologies are also standard for added peace of mind on every drive.

Powered by a 74.7-kWh lithium-ion, high-capacity battery, the 2026 Trailseeker is expected to deliver approximately 420 kilometres of range from a single charge. Thanks to an onboard battery preconditioning system, the Trailseeker can be ready for fast charging in warm or cold temperatures, and a standard NACS charging port offers more on-the-go charging options.

Developed by Subaru engineers, the 2026 Trailseeker upgrades every drive with a unique suspension and all-wheel-drive system tuned to deliver straight-line stability and control on various surfaces. Using acceleration sensors in the front and rear, the Trailseeker adapts to the dynamic load while accelerating, braking, or turning, powering the correct wheels for improved traction and stability.

The standard 14-inch Subaru Multimedia touchscreen offers wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility for entertainment on the go. Two wireless, 15W smartphone chargers keep devices charged, while two fast USB-C chargers keep rear-seat passengers connected. All models are equipped with a suite of EyeSight driver-assistance technologies, including Pre-Collision Braking, Front Cross Traffic Alert, Blind Spot Monitors, Lane Departure Alert, a panoramic view monitor, Emergency Stop Assist, Traffic Jam Assist, Lane Change Assist, Advanced Adaptive Cruise Control, and more. Pricing and detailed specifications will be available closer to launch in early 2026.
